REQUIREMENTS AND ENTRY FORM

LIGHTING EFFECTS SHEET

1. Please read and sign as having understood all the conditions for entry to the Rotorua Wearable Creations ‘n Colour Awards. (If website entry – click “Send” as having understood all the conditions for entry)
2. No more than two (2) persons on stage per creation.
3. The creation must have a structural fixture combining two pieces to form one.
4. NO perishables
5. Copy of Student ID must be attached to signed entry.
6. Name of your creations

Rotorua Creative Arts Trust has the right to photograph for publicity
Rotorua Creative Arts Trust reserves the right to utilize all creations up to and including the following years event.
Creation Size – Measurements no more than 2m wide or 3m high.
All creations must be kept in good condition for possible display following the event -THIS INCLUDES THE WINNERS.
All Rules and Conditions are subject to change at the discretion of the Rotorua Creative Arts Trust.
On final decision by judging panel, no further correspondence will be entered into.
Parent/caregiver of the entrant will be responsible for the student at all times during the event and in the lead-up to the event.

This needs to say something about the creation, e.g.

• What the inspiration wa
• What the message is etc
• what the piece is made of

You are on the stage for 1 minute 30 seconds; we require an additional 10 seconds for fadeout at the end. Music can be cut, or started at so many seconds into the song. Just write ALL details down for Dynamics to follow. Please drop into dynamics Audio Visual in White Street.
First in, first served. If two entries happen to have the same music it will go to the one that registered first.

Venue; Forum at the Energy Event Center
No changes can be made to garment as of Sunday 17 August. Garments after pre-judging are the responsibility of the entrant and must be taken away until the Dress Rehearsal at the Energy Events Centre.

• Prejudging: youth – 1pm Pre-judging commences
• Prejudging: Golden Years individual, Cultural - 3.30pm
• Prejudging: Corporate – 5.30pm
  

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT THE PRE-JUDGING
NO SHOWS AT THE PREJUDGING WILL BE UNABLE TO PLACE THEIR ENTRY.

• Everyone must attend in FULL costume, e.g. head gear, arm bands and all accessories to be worn.
• Official photos will be taken at this time for future promotion (plus to ensure no changes are made) so, “practice a pose”.
• Dynamics will have their own photographer there for imagery on the back screen for each night.
• Please bring plenty of water and snacks as it is an exciting time and a lot of milling about.
• This is the last chance to check music. Dynamics will be in attendance.
• The “lighting man” will be at Pre-judging to help with colour choices / glow options, lighting form required by 6 August.
• Upon completion of the pre-judging process, there are to be no overall changes to final entry, garment, or music.
• At Pre-judging, music will be confirmed and you will get the opportunity to walk through your sequence for timing and to see the layout of the stage etc. Also, lighting will be discussed with you.
• Backstage passes will be released on Wednesday 27 August.
  A chance to run through “on the stage”, or the stage will be mapped out on the floor, true to size.

JUDGES WILL BE ASKING QUESTIONS
a) What inspired you?
b) What is the garment made of?
c) How long did it take to make?

We will be there to help make all of this easier and fun for everyone.

• Youth: 9.15am
• Golden Years - Individual: 1pm
• Culture as Wearable Art: 2pm
• Corporate: 5.30pm
  

Music tracks will be done for the two sessions.
Run through on stage with music and lighting.
Entrants MUST wear full creation, without makeup, so lighting and special effects can be checked.
Entries can be left at the Energy Events Centre from this point.

Invited Guests only. There will be an audience and this will be a full “performance show” which will start at 12.00 noon .

Entrants to be at the Energy Event Centre:

• Youth by 10.00am
• Individual / Cultural / Golden Years / by 11.00am
• Corporate by 11.00am

Each entrant will be checked off upon arrival. Each entrant’s number will be on a table backstage, allocating their own space.

One support person only, per entrant, backstage. Please show respect / courtesy for those around you.

Entrants to be at the Energy Events Centre;

• Youth by 4.30pm
• Golden Years by 5pm
• Individual / Cultural / Corporate by 5.00pm

Each entrant will be checked off upon arrival. Each entrant’s number will be on a table backstage, allocating their own space. One support person only, per entrant, backstage.

Encourage all your friends and family to come and support you and vote for your entry.
Snacks will be provided, but please bring your own extra water and snacks; it is a long, exciting night.

No Alcohol!

There will be live imagery and sound on the screen, low enough so you can still hear your cue call.
Security will be in attendance to check all backstage passes as you go in and out. Please keep passes with you at all times. Please do not hesitate to ask for any help required.

SPECIAL EFFECTS
No flames. Please see Haidee from Dynamics for any special effects. They will give the OK or NOT.

HELPFUL HINTS
Past participants asked if there were any helpful hints they could pass on to new entries. They all said it was a lot of fun. Eating snacks was helpful, and plenty of water.
